NFL Week 6 Betting Preview – Three Games to Watch

nfl week 6 betting preview 3 games to watchWeek 6 of the NFL season is bound to be interesting as we still have 6 teams that have the undefeated status. One game everyone should watch is NFL Thursday match-up between the Atlanta Falcons and the New Orleans Saints.

The Falcons are currently an undefeated 5-0 team that were listed as the underdog by the online sportsbook for their first three games until the bookies finally noticed that they were winning and not stopping. This matchup will be a good old NFC Southern rivalry match but can the Saints with a 1-4 record put a stop to their winning streak?

Most football handicappers seem to think that the Falcons will win outright but will not cover the spread as they believe that they are an overrated team. The Falcons are looking to get their first 6-0 start while the Saints are just looking to get some respect as their chance of making the playoffs are pretty slim at this point.

Another game to watch will be the Chicago Bears as they take on the Detroit Lions. The Bears started the season slowly and it looks like they are finally getting their act together but the Lions are hungry for a win.

This should be a good watch as we get to see Matt Forte of the Bears who is currently the NFL’s leading rusher with 483 yards and with QB Jay Cutler who is starting to look much better on the field. However, Ezekiel Ansah is back in the game after having missed the last two games due to a shoulder injury and he is currently tied in the league with five sacks that could put a stop to Forte.

It seems that all we have been hearing in NFL Betting circles is the big match-up between the Indianapolis Colts and the New England Patriots. For years, these two teams have faced off with the Patriots defeating the Colts at almost every turn.

This time however, Colts fans may just see a turnaround with no deflategate excuse. Currently the Patriots have a 4-0 record and seem to be blowing away the competition. Unfortunately, this may come to a stop as they have had a few significant injuries with LT Nate Solder who was recently injured and Flowers, Hightower and Brown. Despite the injury, online sports betting fans know that the Patriots have a bone to pick with the Colts due to deflategate and will do their best to crush them.

On the Colts front, even though they have the most losses to the Patriots, they are expecting a lot from Andrew Luck for this game. Indianapolis currently has a 3-2 record and with Luck back in the driver’s seat, they may have a chance if he can figure out the Patriots defense. No matter which way this game goes, it will be one the game to watch this Sunday.

NFL Week 5 Betting – Two Games to Watch For

NFL Week 5 Betting – Two Games to Watch For

NFL Week 5 Betting – Two Games to Watch ForNFL Week 4 is almost over with only the NFL Monday night game left when the Lions take on the Seahawks at 8:30m ET tonight. According the football odds at this online sportsbook, the Seattle Seahawks are the clear favorite at -9.5.

Looking forward to betting on the NFL for week 5, here are a few matchups that should be on your list of games to watch.

St Louis Rams vs. Green Bay Packers

The Rams have had an interesting season so far defeating opponents they should not have and losing to teams that should not have beaten them.

Just last night when the Rams took on the Cardinals, most of the betting was on the Rams to lose outright but they pulled it off in a 24-22 victory.

The big question now is can Todd Gurley bring his A game when he and the Rams take on the Green Bay Packers and Aaron Rodgers this Sunday at 1m ET?

Rodgers is a force to reckon at home, and since 2012, he has a touchdown to interception ratio of 48-0 which is not very good odds for Gurley. The Rams on the other hand are known for having an elite team of pass rushers that should keep Rodgers wary.

The NFL Handicappers are predicting a final score of Packers 21, Rams 14 but seeing at how the Rams have been playing this season, we are skeptical about the outcome of this NFL matchup.

Seattle Seahawks vs. Cincinnati Bengals

If you are only going to be watching one game on NFL Sunday, this is the one to watch. According to the best sportsbooks out there, the game will be so close that they have not figured out a pointspread for this matchup yet.

Seattle will attempt to take down an undefeated Cincinnati lead by quarterback Andy Dalton who has only had 2 sacks for the season so far thanks to a strong offensive line that makes sure their QB is well protected. The Seahawks defense may not be up to the job since this season so far, they have not managed a single interception.

So far, Russell Wilson has not been looking great with only 4 touchdowns and 2 interceptions and will be looking for a major improvement from his defensive line who has allowed 12 sacks on Wilson.

We are looking forward to watching the Seahawks tonight to see if our impression will change but at the moment, the football betting is going on the Bengals for the win.

Worst Teams of the NFL so Far

Worst Teams of the NFL so Far

2015 Worst Teams of the NFL so farAfter three weeks of NFL play, we are now seeing which teams are starting with a bang and which teams are struggling to keep up with the pack. Then, we have the team that just can’t seem to get it right.

Let’s take a look at the top three worst team of the NFL so far and why they are at the bottom of the pack.

The Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens take the cake for being the worst of the worst with an 0-3 record. In terms of offense, forget it as they have a non-existent running game with only 218 rushing yards so far and averaging 3.3 yards er carry with only one touchdown on the ground.Their Quarterback, Joe Flacco has had 4 interception and with only 126 attempts and 82 completions, they really need to work on the defense to make up for their lack of offense.

Unfortunately, their defense is just as bad as their offense with Terrell Suggs out with a torn achilles, it doesn’t look like they will be up to par for a while. Needless to say, some nfl sports betting expert expect them to go 0-6 in the next 3 games.

The Chicago Bears

What can we say about the Bears and their 0-3 season so far…  Let’s start with yesterday’s game when Seattle shut them out with a final score of 26-0, something that has not been done since 2002!

In terms of offense, they have Matt Forte and only Matt Forte since Kevin White and Alshon Jeffery are both out due to injuries. In terms of defense, they just do not have the talent to compete against anyone.

The New Orleans Saints

Looks like the Saints are not going to march in the playoff if they do not improve their defense.  With an 0-3 record so far, and no one knowing when quarterback Drew Brees will be back in action after suffering a shoulder injury making him miss the the first meaningful game of his time with the Saints.

As always, he is optimistic and expects to be back in action for Week 4 but until then, the team is stuck with Josh McCown who showed us a decent performance that was undermined by the team’s horrible defense this last Sunday.  Even though McCown did a good job, his receivers could use some help in stretching the field.

NFL Betting – Week 3 Betting Lines

NFL Betting – Week 3 Betting Lines

NFL Betting – Week 3 Betting Lines After a pair of close losses, the New York Giants search for their first win of the season at home against Washington. New York gave up over 700 passing yards against the Cowboys and Falcons combined, but now face run-heavy Washington team that has thrown for less than 200 yards in each of their first two games. This online sportsbook likes this matchup for the Giants and have them listed as a four-point home favorite. It’s worth noting that the Redskins lost both matchups against the Giants by 11 and 31 points, and have gone 0-4 both straight up and ATS vs. New York the last two seasons.

Speaking of the Falcons and Cowboys, those two teams meet up this Sunday in Dallas, and while both teams are flying high after back-to-back victories, Dallas has all kinds of injury problems. After losing start WR Dez Bryant in their season opener, they lost QB Tony Romo for a couple of months this past Sunday. Making matters worse TE Jason Witten might not play either. All of these injuries to the Cowboys have Atlanta listed as a small 1-point road favorite, and the betting public will likely bet them up higher as we get closer to game time.

According to most NFL Betting websites, Tampa Bay was the biggest underdog on the board last week, getting ten points at New Orleans and they were able to shock the world with an outright 13-point win. They are a big underdog against this week, getting 6.5 points on the road against Houston.

But that’s not the biggest line of the weekend. After a tough 0-2 start, the Seattle Seahawks play their first road game of the season and are a monster 15-point favorite against the Chicago Bears. While Chicago is 0-2 both straight up and ATS, they have played well defensively (at least statistically) and this pointspread sure seems a little high – even for a team that is desperate for a win.

Another team playing with desperation is the Indianapolis Colts – one of the preseason favorites (along with New England) to win the AFC but they have lost each of their first two games while the offense has sputtered. The Colts started 0-2 last year, but still won 11 games and made it to the AFC Championship Game. They are a 3-point road favorite against a Tennessee team that looked great at Tampa Bay, but were crushed last week by the Browns.

Want proof that pointspreads are determined by public perception and not actual play on the field? Look no further than the Philadelphia – NY Jets matchup. Philly has lost their first two games, while their offense has looked completely lost in three of the four halves they have played. The Jets crushed the Browns in their season opener, and then shocked the Colts on Monday night 20-7 as a 6-point home underdog. But the Eagles are only a 2.5-point underdog – even with the Jets having home field advantage.

We’ll be back next week to look at some of the key matchups for the fourth week of NFL Football action.

NFL Betting – Week 2 Betting Lines

NFL Betting – Week 2 Betting Lines

NFL Betting – Week 2 Betting Lines Week 2 of the NFL Regular Season kicks off with a bang as AFC West giants Denver and Kansas City play on Thursday night. The Chiefs are a three-point favorite representing the first time KC has been favored over the Broncos since Peyton Manning arrived in Denver.

In all six of those matchups the Broncos not only won outright, but won by at least a touchdown. In fact, Denver has outscored Kansas City by a combined 80 points in those six games. But with the Broncos managing a measly 219 yards of total offense (including 150 yards passing), the betting public is all over the Chiefs in Thursday’s contest.

After a big win against one of the favorites to win the AFC, Buffalo gets another stiff test this Sunday when they host New England. The Patriots won their season opener by a touchdown against Pittsburgh last Thursday, and come into this game with a few days of extra rest. Buffalo opened as a small home underdog, but have been bet up to a pick ‘em as of this writing.

Another big line move has the Tennessee Titans as a small road favorite in Cleveland. Some of that line movement is due to Cleveland likely starting backup quarterback Johnny Manziel, while the main reason is the Titans dismantling of Tampa Bay last week while the Browns were crushed by the Jets.

Offense figures to rule the day when the New York Giants visit the Atlanta Falcons. Atlanta is coming off a big win vs. the Eagles on Monday night, while the Giants took a tough loss at Dallas. Eli Manning likely won’t tell his players to not score this time around, and the 51-point total is the second-highest of the entire NFL weekend.

Bet on Sports at CRsportsBet.ag

According to this online sportsbook, the highest total is 55.5-points, and no surprise it’s on the Eagles game. Philly looks to rebound from that loss when they host Dallas in one of the late afternoon games on Sunday. Cowboys are a 5.5-point underdog and will be without the services of WR Dez Bryant. Tough loss for this matchup as the Eagles offense came to life in the second half against Atlanta and the Cowboys will need to bring their A-game offensively to keep up with the Philly scoring unit.

The Sunday Night Football matchup of Seattle vs. Green Bay is a rematch of the NFC Championship Game last year, won by Seattle in overtime. That sets up a big revenge spot for the Packers here, and the home team has won the last four meetings in this series dating back to 2009. Green Bay is a 3.5-point favorite, up a half-point from the opening number.

We’ll be back next week to highlight the marquee games and line moves for next weekend’s NFL Week 3 card.

2015 NFL Hall of Fame Game Betting Preview

2015 NFL Hall of Fame Game Betting Preview

2015 NFL Hall of Fame Game Betting Preview Two teams with playoff aspirations kick off the 2015 NFL Football season on Sunday night from Canton, OH in the Hall of Fame Game. The Minnesota Vikings reacquired the services of running back Adrian Peterson, and with a revamped passing game behind young Teddy Bridgewater they look to improve on last year’s 7-win campaign.

Pittsburgh finished atop the AFC North last year with an 11-5 mark, but fell in the Wild Card round against fellow division mate Baltimore. A consistent rushing attack led by Le’Veon Bell helped the Steelers regain their identity which was lost in the 2013 season, and while they’ll miss him for two games they are still expected to be a major player in the AFC.

Online sportsbook CRSportsBet.ag gives both of these teams a shot at making the playoffs, with Minnesota pegged at a season win over/under at 7.5 wins and the Steelers expected to do one game better at 8.5 wins.

For this first preseason matchup, Minnesota is listed as a 2.5-point betting favorite in the Hall of Fame Game. Pittsburgh is generally regarded as the better team, but in the preseason the strength of both teams’ starters doesn’t mean much.

Pittsburgh went 1-3 last preseason and lost all four of their August tilts in 2013. Some head coaches have tendencies on how they approach these meaningless contests, and Mike Tomlin clearly hasn’t put much stock into win/loss results.

The Vikings went 3-1 last August under head coach Mike Tice, outscoring those four teams by an average of 10 ppg. Not sure the Vikings defense can match the 12.2 ppg allowed last August, but they certainly played with a mentality not seen throughout the league.

Bet on Sports at CRsportsBet.ag

Three of the last four Hall of Fame Games have seen final scores of less than 30 points – not that surprising considering the small amount of playing time the starters receive. Given Minnesota’s defensive mentality of last August, playing Under the posted total of 35 points should be considered.

We’ll be back next week to break down some of the marquee games of the first full week of NFL Preseason betting action.
