College Football Betting – Week 5 Betting Lines

College Football Betting – Week 5 Betting Lines

College Football Betting – Week 5 Betting Lines There are four college football games between Thursday and Friday, however they don’t feature any teams ranked in the Top 25. Thursday night’s matchup of Miami FL vs. Cincinnati promises to be a shootout, however, as the online sportsbooks has a high total of 68 points. Hurricanes have put up 45, 44, and 36 points in their first three games, while Cincinnati is coming off a loss against Memphis which saw 99 points scored (Cincy finished with over 600 yards passing).

Moving on to the featured matchups this Saturday, the best game in terms of rankings has #6 Notre Dame visiting #12 Clemson. The Fighting Irish were able to get past Georgia Tech two weeks ago to keep their unbeaten record, but having to play on the road at Clemson will be their toughest test of the season by far. Clemson has not faced much competition, with their best win of the young season coming by three points at Louisville, however they do have the benefit of playing this game with an extra week of rest. This online sportsbook have this game as a pick ‘em.

It will be interesting to see how Oregon plays this week after getting crushed 62-20 at home vs. Utah – a loss that dropped the Ducks out of the Top 25. Oregon was outplayed in every facet of the game, and were the victim of one of the best punt return trick plays we’ve ever seen. Perhaps that lopsided win says more about Utah than it does about Oregon. Ducks are a 7.5-point road favorite at Colorado this Saturday – a team they have beat by no less than 34 points in each of the last four years.

We’ve been harsh on the SEC the last few weeks noting many of their teams have been overrated. So far we’ve been vindicated with those statements as five SEC teams have dropped out of the AP Top 25 in just four weeks of play. Two more SEC teams crawled into the rankings this week – unbeaten Florida and 3-1 Mississippi State.

Gators have a tough matchup as they host #3 Ole Miss, and while we’re not yet sold on the Rebels even after their big road win at Alabama (forced five turnovers in the victory), we’re also not sure the Gators offense has enough punch to hang with Ole’ Miss here. College football betting experts agree having the third-ranked Rebels as a 7.5-point road favorite.

Mississippi State already dropped out of the rankings once this season (after losing against LSU), and are likely doomed to the same fate as they travel to #14 Texas A&M. No idea what the pollsters were thinking having the Bulldogs climb back into the rankings based on their in-season body of work, and their defense will get tested in the passing game here for the first time all season. A&M is laying 6.5 points at home and that line looks very tempting against a road team returning just seven starters total from last year.

We’ll be back next week to take a look at some of the key betting lines for CFB Week 6.

College Football Betting – Week 2 Betting Lines

College Football Betting – Week 2 Betting Lines

College Football Betting – Week 2 Betting Lines Many of the upper-echelon teams in the Power Five conferences schedule weaker non-conference foes in the first few weeks of the season, but we do have a few high profile matchups this Saturday, including the first matchup of Top Ten teams of the season.

That would be #7 Oregon visiting #5 Michigan State –a rematch of the game won by the Ducks in Oregon last year by a big 19-point winning margin. That final score is very misleading, however, as MSU actually held a nine-point lead late in the third quarter before they completely fell apart. Oregon scored the final 28 points of the game to make the game seem more lopsided than it actually was.

Not only to the Ducks not have the benefit of home field advantage for this rematch, but they also don’t have QB Marcus Mariota anymore. Instead, Adams makes his road debut for the Ducks after looking good against his former team – FCS Eastern Washington – last week.

But while Adams looked good behind center, the defense looked awful and will likely be the determining factor in the outcome of this marquee game. Michigan State opened as a three-point home favorite but they have been bet up to a 4-point choice at the online sportsbooks.

Besides Oregon vs. Michigan State, there are two more game featuring both teams ranked in the Top 25. LSU is a four-point road favorite against Mississippi State while Oklahoma is a small 1.5-point road favorite at Tennessee.

The SEC has ten teams ranked in the Top 25 this week, but while the pollsters hold the SEC in high regard we’re not sure some of those teams are deserving of that ranking. Mississippi State returns just seven starters total on both sides of the ball, while Tennessee’s defense looked very weak last week against Bowling Green – especially against the pass – and faces an elite passing offense this week in the Sooners.

All of the other teams ranked in the Top 25 are listed as favorites – many of them against inferior competition. In fact, Boise State is the only ranked team not to be favored by double-digits as they are just -2.5 at BYU. Tough matchup for the Cougars, as they are coming off a big high after beating Nebraska on a Hail Mary and also lost their starting QB in that victory.

We’ll be back next week to look over some of the key College Football betting lines for Week 3.

Everet Golson is the new starting quarterback for Florida State

Everett Golson, the New Starting Quarterback for Florida State

Everet Golson is the new starting quarterback for Florida StateFor weeks NCAA football betting fans have been kept in suspense as to who will be the starting quarterback for Florida State Seminole.  Today, Coach Jimbo Fisher announced that Everett Golson is the man for the job as he relates well to players and shown what kind of player he is himself.

Golson previously came from Notre Dame where he played from 2011 to the spring of 2015.  Even though he was never able to repeat his 2012 performance at Notre Dame where they had a perfect season finishing 12-0, Goldson still performed admirably during his time at Notre Dame.

According to Coach Fisher, it came down to Golson and Maguire as to who would be the next starting quarterback for the Seminoles saying that they “have both had their moments and shined”.  What set Golson apart was that “he has a good grasp of things.  Making reads, plays and getting on the edge with his legs when he has to.”

Nolan Young, a top football handicapper believes that one of the main reason as to why Fisher chose Golson over Maguire is experience because Florida State has four returning starter on offense and Golson is the most experience of them all.  That and considering that he has thrown 5,850 yards and had 41 touchdowns where he ran 14 of those touchdowns during his time at Notre Dame makes him a powerhouse for Florida State.

The big test for Golson and the Seminoles will be when they take on Texas Sate in their season opener giving the online sportsbook plenty of mixed signals as to which way the handicapping will go.
