NFL Week 6 Betting Preview – Three Games to Watch

nfl week 6 betting preview 3 games to watchWeek 6 of the NFL season is bound to be interesting as we still have 6 teams that have the undefeated status. One game everyone should watch is NFL Thursday match-up between the Atlanta Falcons and the New Orleans Saints.

The Falcons are currently an undefeated 5-0 team that were listed as the underdog by the online sportsbook for their first three games until the bookies finally noticed that they were winning and not stopping. This matchup will be a good old NFC Southern rivalry match but can the Saints with a 1-4 record put a stop to their winning streak?

Most football handicappers seem to think that the Falcons will win outright but will not cover the spread as they believe that they are an overrated team. The Falcons are looking to get their first 6-0 start while the Saints are just looking to get some respect as their chance of making the playoffs are pretty slim at this point.

Another game to watch will be the Chicago Bears as they take on the Detroit Lions. The Bears started the season slowly and it looks like they are finally getting their act together but the Lions are hungry for a win.

This should be a good watch as we get to see Matt Forte of the Bears who is currently the NFL’s leading rusher with 483 yards and with QB Jay Cutler who is starting to look much better on the field. However, Ezekiel Ansah is back in the game after having missed the last two games due to a shoulder injury and he is currently tied in the league with five sacks that could put a stop to Forte.

It seems that all we have been hearing in NFL Betting circles is the big match-up between the Indianapolis Colts and the New England Patriots. For years, these two teams have faced off with the Patriots defeating the Colts at almost every turn.

This time however, Colts fans may just see a turnaround with no deflategate excuse. Currently the Patriots have a 4-0 record and seem to be blowing away the competition. Unfortunately, this may come to a stop as they have had a few significant injuries with LT Nate Solder who was recently injured and Flowers, Hightower and Brown. Despite the injury, online sports betting fans know that the Patriots have a bone to pick with the Colts due to deflategate and will do their best to crush them.

On the Colts front, even though they have the most losses to the Patriots, they are expecting a lot from Andrew Luck for this game. Indianapolis currently has a 3-2 record and with Luck back in the driver’s seat, they may have a chance if he can figure out the Patriots defense. No matter which way this game goes, it will be one the game to watch this Sunday.

NCAA Football Betting – Week 6 Matchups

NCAA Football Betting – Week 6 Matchups

NCAA Football Betting – Week 6 MatchupsWith over 50 NCAA football games this weekend, they are really only two games that are worth watching. These two games are the only matchups for week 6 of the college football season that feature two teams that are ranked in the top 25; one in the Big Ten and the other out West in the Pac 12.

Last weekend, we saw a number of big upsets with four of the Top Ten ranked teams all losing outright. In addition to shaking up the rankings it has also changed the public perception of many high profile teams.

The first such match-up has unbeaten Northwestern taking on 4-1 Michigan at the Big House. The Wildcats have climbed to #13 in the rankings, and Big Ten powers Ohio State and Michigan State not on their schedule this year, this sets up as one of the biggest games of the season for Northwestern.

The Villanova Wildcats crushed Minnesota 27-0 last week as a small 3-point home favorite. Many online sportsbooks still don’t give NW credit, however, as Michigan is a huge 8-point home favorite. These odds would suggest that Michigan would be favored even if this game took place at Northwestern. The Wolverines also had a great game last week, beating Maryland 28-0 for their second straight shutout.

The other match-up of two ranked foes is #5 Utah which is hosting #23 California. Utah has come out of nowhere the past few weeks, starting the season unranked (29 teams had more points in the preseason rankings) and now surging to a Top 5 position after crushing Oregon by 42 points two weeks back (had a bye last week).

Their season-opening road win at Michigan is now looking better after the Wolverines have turned things around. The Utes now have to deal with the pressure of having that ranking, and are a 4 point favorite at home against the Bears. Cal is also unbeaten, but this is by far the toughest opponent they will have faced so far.

#21 Oklahoma State is the only ranked team (outside of the two Top 25 matchups) to be listed as an underdog this week when they travel to West Virginia to face the 3-1 Mountaineers. Somewhat surprisingly, WVU is a big 7-point home favorite against the Cowboys in a line perhaps influenced by West Virginia’s recent success in this series. OSU was a 3-point home underdog last year and were blown out 34-10. Two years ago, Oklahoma State was a massive 19.5-point road favorite but WVU shocked them with a 30-21 outright victory.

The SEC has been a disappointment for online sports betting enthusiasts thus far with Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss, and Georgia all losing after reaching the top ten of the rankings. Florida pulled off one of the bigger upsets of the season last week, crushing the Rebels 38-10 and exposing Ole Miss for who they really are. That big win pushed Florida all the way up to #11, and it will be interesting to see if they suffer the same fate as the Rebels now that they have the big target on their back. Florida is a 5-point road favorite at Missouri.

We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the Red River Showdown – one of the most anticipated matchups every year. The slow 1-4 start by Texas – including a 50-7 blowout loss last week against TCU – means this game has lost some of it’s luster. Unbeaten Oklahoma is a huge 17-point choice.

We’ll be back next week to preview the college football betting matchups for Week 7 of the CFB season.

NFL Week 5 Betting – Two Games to Watch For

NFL Week 5 Betting – Two Games to Watch For

NFL Week 5 Betting – Two Games to Watch ForNFL Week 4 is almost over with only the NFL Monday night game left when the Lions take on the Seahawks at 8:30m ET tonight. According the football odds at this online sportsbook, the Seattle Seahawks are the clear favorite at -9.5.

Looking forward to betting on the NFL for week 5, here are a few matchups that should be on your list of games to watch.

St Louis Rams vs. Green Bay Packers

The Rams have had an interesting season so far defeating opponents they should not have and losing to teams that should not have beaten them.

Just last night when the Rams took on the Cardinals, most of the betting was on the Rams to lose outright but they pulled it off in a 24-22 victory.

The big question now is can Todd Gurley bring his A game when he and the Rams take on the Green Bay Packers and Aaron Rodgers this Sunday at 1m ET?

Rodgers is a force to reckon at home, and since 2012, he has a touchdown to interception ratio of 48-0 which is not very good odds for Gurley. The Rams on the other hand are known for having an elite team of pass rushers that should keep Rodgers wary.

The NFL Handicappers are predicting a final score of Packers 21, Rams 14 but seeing at how the Rams have been playing this season, we are skeptical about the outcome of this NFL matchup.

Seattle Seahawks vs. Cincinnati Bengals

If you are only going to be watching one game on NFL Sunday, this is the one to watch. According to the best sportsbooks out there, the game will be so close that they have not figured out a pointspread for this matchup yet.

Seattle will attempt to take down an undefeated Cincinnati lead by quarterback Andy Dalton who has only had 2 sacks for the season so far thanks to a strong offensive line that makes sure their QB is well protected. The Seahawks defense may not be up to the job since this season so far, they have not managed a single interception.

So far, Russell Wilson has not been looking great with only 4 touchdowns and 2 interceptions and will be looking for a major improvement from his defensive line who has allowed 12 sacks on Wilson.

We are looking forward to watching the Seahawks tonight to see if our impression will change but at the moment, the football betting is going on the Bengals for the win.

College Football Betting – Week 5 Betting Lines

College Football Betting – Week 5 Betting Lines

College Football Betting – Week 5 Betting Lines There are four college football games between Thursday and Friday, however they don’t feature any teams ranked in the Top 25. Thursday night’s matchup of Miami FL vs. Cincinnati promises to be a shootout, however, as the online sportsbooks has a high total of 68 points. Hurricanes have put up 45, 44, and 36 points in their first three games, while Cincinnati is coming off a loss against Memphis which saw 99 points scored (Cincy finished with over 600 yards passing).

Moving on to the featured matchups this Saturday, the best game in terms of rankings has #6 Notre Dame visiting #12 Clemson. The Fighting Irish were able to get past Georgia Tech two weeks ago to keep their unbeaten record, but having to play on the road at Clemson will be their toughest test of the season by far. Clemson has not faced much competition, with their best win of the young season coming by three points at Louisville, however they do have the benefit of playing this game with an extra week of rest. This online sportsbook have this game as a pick ‘em.

It will be interesting to see how Oregon plays this week after getting crushed 62-20 at home vs. Utah – a loss that dropped the Ducks out of the Top 25. Oregon was outplayed in every facet of the game, and were the victim of one of the best punt return trick plays we’ve ever seen. Perhaps that lopsided win says more about Utah than it does about Oregon. Ducks are a 7.5-point road favorite at Colorado this Saturday – a team they have beat by no less than 34 points in each of the last four years.

We’ve been harsh on the SEC the last few weeks noting many of their teams have been overrated. So far we’ve been vindicated with those statements as five SEC teams have dropped out of the AP Top 25 in just four weeks of play. Two more SEC teams crawled into the rankings this week – unbeaten Florida and 3-1 Mississippi State.

Gators have a tough matchup as they host #3 Ole Miss, and while we’re not yet sold on the Rebels even after their big road win at Alabama (forced five turnovers in the victory), we’re also not sure the Gators offense has enough punch to hang with Ole’ Miss here. College football betting experts agree having the third-ranked Rebels as a 7.5-point road favorite.

Mississippi State already dropped out of the rankings once this season (after losing against LSU), and are likely doomed to the same fate as they travel to #14 Texas A&M. No idea what the pollsters were thinking having the Bulldogs climb back into the rankings based on their in-season body of work, and their defense will get tested in the passing game here for the first time all season. A&M is laying 6.5 points at home and that line looks very tempting against a road team returning just seven starters total from last year.

We’ll be back next week to take a look at some of the key betting lines for CFB Week 6.
